Loading software on the OPL981x

Image	On all OPL981x terminals runs an OS (operating system) and an application. The OS and the application can be loaded by a small PC application called APPLOAD.
Software codes	The different models of the OPL981x terminals have their own Operating System version that can be distinguished by an unique 3 letter code (starting with 'LB'). Before you try to load a new Operating System on an OPL981x you have to know which Operating System file (i.e. LBBVxxxx.S32 for the OPL9813) must be loaded on your terminal. In the table below you can find which software code belongs to which OPL981x terminal. Code Terminal XBN OPL9813 XBO OPL9815
OPL9813	To load a new OS or application in the OPL9813 by cradle, set the cradle in auto baudrate mode. Load OS Load application Automatic Place the OPL9813 in the cradle select the OS by appload. Automatic Place the OPL9813 in the cradle select the application by appload. System menu Press all three buttons at the same time. Use key 2 (Q2_KEY) to scroll to Download application. Press the trigger key to select. Place the OPL9813 in the cradle select the OS by appload. System menu Press all three buttons at the same time. Use key 2 (Q2_KEY) to scroll to Download application. Press the trigger key to select. Place the OPL9813 in the cradle select the application by appload.
OPL9815	To load a new OS or application in the OPL9815 by the cradle, set the cradle in auto baudrate mode. Load OS Load application Automatic (cradle) To use this option the bluetooth communication port must not be open. Place the OPL9815 in the cradle select the OS by appload. Automatic (cradle) To use this option the bluetooth communication port must not be open. Place the OPL9815 in the cradle select the application by appload. System menu (cradle) Press all three buttons at the same time. Use key 2 (Q2_KEY) to scroll to Download application. Press the trigger key to select. Press key 1 (Q1_KEY) to use download by IrDA. Place the OPL9815 in the cradle select the OS by appload. System menu (cradle) Press all three buttons at the same time. Use key 2 (Q2_KEY) to scroll to Download application. Press the trigger key to select. Press key 1 (Q1_KEY) to use download by IrDA. Place the OPL9815 in the cradle select the application by appload. System menu (bluetooth) Not possible. System menu (bluetooth) First you need to discover or set address of the bluetooth host you want to connect to Press all three buttons at the same time. Use key 2 (Q2_KEY) to scroll to Download application. Press the trigger key to select. Press key 2 (Q2_KEY) to use download by bluetooth. Place the OPL9815 in the cradle select the application by appload.
